Floral painting with bush of roses was executed on the turn of 20th Century by listed Italian still life and landscape painter Licinio (Licinius) BARZANTI (Forli 1857-Como 1944). Very young, he moved to Florence where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and came into contact with the current Postmacchiaiolo and naturalist contemporary. His works were shown at the London expositions of 1888, Genoa in 1892 and Florence in 1904 (Spring Tuscany): They are floral arrangements and landscapes in which the components of classicist tradition appear merged with the most recent instances (landscape, Forl์, Pinacoteca Comunale).
