Masterfullly seascape with sailing boats by Scheveningen was executed by famous Dutch marine painter Ary Pleysier (1809 (due to other sources 1819) - 1879). Ary Pleysier was born in Vlaardingen on 16 April 1809 and died in Vreeland on 12 May 1879. He was an autodidact who specialized in sea and river views. He worked in Rotterdam until 1842 and then until 1850 in The Hague and finally in Amsterdam. He became a member of Arti et Amicitiae from 1852. (Source: Wikipedia.org)
