Boudoir painting with a reading nude was executed in 1927 by listed American painter and illustrator Allan Charles Gilbert (1873 Hartford, Connecticut - 1929 New York). The artist studied at the Art Student´s League in New York and later at the Academy Julian in Paris by B. Constant and J.P. Laurens. Landscapes, genre, nude works, portraits and graphic series ("Women of Fiction"; "Message from Mars"; " All is vanity"; "The honey moon"). Our work was executed by the author under influence of European Salon art of the time (D.Enjolras, M. Carlier).
