Colourfully still life with wildflowers was created in the second half of 19 century by well-known French still life and genre artist Eugene Henri Cauchois (1850 Rouen - 1911 Paris). He was the student of Duboc, Cabanel and Quost, exhibited his flower and genre works since 1874 in the Salon. Cauchois awarded with different impotrant prizes . His works situated in the many museums in France and around the world (Rouen, Louviers, Rio de Janeiro, Chatellerault, Perpignan).

Literature: Thieme/Becker"Dictionary of artists from antique to present(in german)", Lepzig, 1999; in French: "Dictionary of painters, sculptos and decorators" by E.Benezit, Gründ,1999.

Inscription: 2 memory inscriptions in French left and right " souvenier. ."; under inscription on the right site : the artist´s signature: H.Cauchois.

Technique: oil on Mahagoni wood panel. Salon original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 10 1/4 " x h 14 " (26 x 35,5 cm); framed w 18 7/8 " x h 22 1/2 " (48 x 57 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
