Lovely genre scene in the dress room behind of the backstage was executed in 1903 and due to the similar style was attributed to the hand of Spanish painter and illustrator José García y Ramos, born in Seville in 1852 and died in the same city in 1912.He was a pupil of the Provincial School of fine arts of Seville from a young age, completing his training in the workshop of José Jiménez Aranda, which traveled to Rome in 1872. In Rome he met Mariano Fortuny that greatly influenced his later work. Some of his best known works are " The brotherhood", "the output of a masquerade ball", "The first trial",, one of his most beautiful works is entitled " Young woman with tambourine". In 1877 he visited Naples and Venice and in 1882 returned to Spain after a stay in Paris. In Seville he was appointed Professor of the school of industrial arts and academic of Santa Isabel. He also worked as an Illustrator in different publications. He died in 1912 in Seville.He is the painter belonging to the nineteenth-century Seville school and one of its greatest exponents. Most of his works reflect the daily life of the Seville at the end of the 19th century.
