Lively street scene in the front of the popular then hotel -restaurant La Maison Doree (now not more existed) in the Court of Saleya, in the old town of Nice. This colourful impressionistic cityscape was executed in 1882 by Italian painter Edward Louis Anthony Parrini (1858 Constantinople - 1914 London). Educated In Florence and Naples University, Parrini was active/lived in Italy, Turkey and since 1885 in London. Edward Parrini is known for city scene paintings, mostly in watercolour, although a few oil paintings also exist. In London he was known for church decorations ( among others for the murals in Brompton Oratory in Kensington, London).
Inscription: signed, titled and dated "E.Parrini, Nice 1882".
Technique: oil on canvas. Luxuriousy original period gold-plated frame.
