Rocky landscape with running deers was executed ca. In 1840s by one of most important represantatives of famous Austrian Biedermeier School Edmund Mahlknecht ( 1820 - 1903). Son of the painter Christoph Mahlknecht, the artist studied at the Viennese fine Arts Academy under J.Moessmer, F.Steinfeld und A.Hansch. His landscape and animal paintings from Austrian Alps broken him the acknowledge among international collectors. His works situated in Austrian museums , under others in Landesbildergalerie Graz.
