Fine miniature painting with two dogs posing on a pillow was executed ca. in the late 1850s, early 1860s, signed by the artist and was attributed as early work to the hand of famous German animal painter Carl Jutz (1838 Windfall - Pfaffendorf 1916). His works with dogs are extremely rare , we found another one (see add.photo), which is stylistic very similar to our work. His international career as an artist began only in 1867 with the move to Düsseldorf. In the same year turned out Jutz at the Paris World´s Fair, among other things later in Vienna in 1873, in Sydney, Melbourne in 1879 and 1881, British and American clients bought many of his major works, German museums in Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Breslau and Königsberg secured within the lifetime of the painter´s pictures from his oeuvre. some paintings by Carl Jutz with duck and chicken motives arrived by international auctions high results (e.g.: auction by Koller, Zurich on 23.03.2007 - 114 000 USD; Dorotheum, Vienna, 1.04.2009 - 44000 Euro ).
