Fine miniature portrait of a lady with dark hair and black lace veil was executed ca. 1840 by the renowed Austrian portrait and miniature painter Adolf Theer (1811-1868). Brother of ánother Austrian miniature painters Robert and Alfred Theer, the artist studied at the Vienna Academy and began exhibiting in 1832. .
