Lovely genre scene with peasant children playing with puppy was executed ca. in 1850s - 1860s and due to the signature was attributed to the hand of Bohemian painter Jakob Ginzel ( 1792 - Reichenberg - 1862).
From 1814 to 1818 he studied at the Prague Academy. In 1818 he worked then in his hometown as a painter in Dresden. Ginzel's picturesque focus was in portraiture, which was especially significant castles of Reichenberg and Jablonec nad Nisou. He is known for a variety of Christmas cribs. His genre scenes are rare to meet on the art market.
