Extremely fine miniature on ivory was executed in the early 19th century by follower of French genre and portrait painter Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725 - 1805).

Inscription: indistinctly monogramm lower middle.
Technique: gouache on ivory , under glass, inner oval fire-gilt bronze original period frame mounted in outside ebonite frame with bronze ornaments.
Measurements: image w 3 3/8" x h 4 1/3" (8,7 x 11 cm), framed w 5 1/3" x h 6 1/4" (13,5 x 16 cm).
