Allegorical forest genre scene with Venus and cupid was executed by the represantative of French school of middle of 19th century. Due to the identical style, compositional elements and time of creation we atteibuted this work to the hand of French allegorical and landscape painter Victor Louis Hugues (1827 Bordeaux - 1879 Paris). The artist worked in Paris, and exhibited with his mythological and landscape works in the middle-last quarter of 19th century. for comparison with his other famous similar works see our addtional photos.
