This round (tondo) painting with angels playing music was created and framed in Florence in the middle of 19th century by an Italian follower of famous early Renaissance painter Fra Angelico (1395 - 1455). He was born in Florence, between 1420 and 1422 he entered a monastery the San Domenico at Fiesole. He painted altarpieces and manuscripts. Linaiuoli Altarpiece, a triptych enclosed in a marble shrine, was an early masterpiece, but he went on to paint famous frescoes at the monastery of San Marco in Florence and a chapel in the Vatican. He died in 1455 .

Technique: each: oil on wood. Original period hand-crafted and gold-plated wood frames.
Measurements: both paintings of the same dimensions: unframed diameter 11" (28 cm), framed 13 3/4" (35 cm).
