The mythological painting "The daughters of the forest" (original artist´s title) was created by good listed Italian portrait,landscape and genre painter Giuseppe Grassis (1870 - Turin - 1949). Our work was illustrated in the monography "giuseppe Grassi Pittore Fra Piemonte E Liguria" by Vitaliano Rocchiero, Rome, 1984 (see add.photos). Giuseppe Grassis studied at the Academy in Turin under Celestino Gilardi, 1892 Prize in Concorso Quadriennale. Debuted 1895 at the Promotrice in Turin with a spring landscape. In the state order created a miniature collection in the Palace Reale in Turin. His paintings clients were among others the Princess Letizia Bonaparte, the Duchess of Genoa, the Duke Emanuele Filiberto d´Aosta and almost all members of the Houses Orleans.
