Masterfully Biedermeier still life with roses was created in 1834 by listed Austrian flower painter Karl (Carl) Voss. He was active in Vienna from 1830s to 1870s and exhibited his works at the exhibitions of Austrian Art Union (1868-1870), of Austrian Museum of Art and Industry (1871) and in the same year by Great International Art Exhibiton in Vienna . Very similar to our still life with roses, dated 1848, was sold for 7500 Euro (inc.provision) by Van Ham Auction house on 14.05.2010 (see add. photo) . Several still lifes were illustrated in the Lexicon of Austrian Artists of 19th century by Prof.H.Fuchs (dated 1848 and 1856). In the same Lexicon represented identical to our type of the artist's signature.
