Portrait of a Russian peasant beauty in the national costume was created by good listed Russian painter Vasili Timofeevich Timofeev (1835 - 1914).
Singer of girls and womens heads, the author of portraits of contemporaries Vasili T. Timofeev was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in St.Petersburg . In 1864 he was awarded with not the prestigious title "the artist of the third degree" for his work "Jew boy repeats a prayer." However, the young artist not indulged the despondency. He found his path and headed for hisfirst class artist of the second degree (1865) and the the class artist of the first degree (1866). The number of its generalized heads, as well as portraits grows, many of them familiar Visitors annual academic exhibitions: 1865 - Portrait of Khokhlov, Workshop young artist; 1867 - Portrait of Mrs. Stepanova; 1868 - Portrait of Mrs. N, Portrait of Belyaev; 1869 - Portrait of N, Portrait of Makarov; 1875 - Portrait of Murder, Portrait of Mrs. Levshina, Head of a Girl; 1885 - Three female heads, petitioner; 1889 - Womens head; Portrait of Mrs. ***.
