Masterful military painting : portrait  of Lieutenant of  8th King   hussar regiment Johann Franz Michael Riegeler ( 1811-1851 Cologne) on the horseback. Painting was created in 1840 by famous german-english military and genre painter and lithographer   Henry J.F. Fleuss , born 1800. He worked since 1830 in Frankfurt on Main. In 1847-1874 his paintings were represented in Royal Academy in London.

Inscription: signed H.Fleuss and dat.1840, lower reght, on the reverse - original inscription about person 

Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame.

Measurements: unframed w 13" x h 16" (33 x 40.5 cm), framed w 19 1/2" x h 22 1/2" (50 x 57 cm)

Condition: in  good condition, on the reverse of canvas thre a few unimportant patches , in the front on the same areas - professional restored.
