View of a fisher market on the river bank (in Rouen or Strassburg) was created in 1883 by famous French landscape painter Eugene Deshaye (1828 - Paris - 1890). The fact that the painting depicts the scene in Rouen or Strassburg confirmed by comparison with two other similar paintings by this author , depicting market scenes on the bank of Seine in Rouen and on the bank of Ill river in Starssburg (see additional photos).Deshayes, Eugène, French landscape painter, draughtsman, lithographer (1828 Paris - 1890 Paris) was pupil of his father Jean Eléazard D. as well as by Alexandre-Gabriel Dechamps (Due to the Paris Salon-Cat.1875). -Painted oils and watercolours , drew mostly marines and Landscapes (e.g. Parisian environment, forest of Fontainebleau, Normandy, Brittany, Dauphiné, Savoie, Provence, Switzerland, Holland) in impressionist. Manner; sensitive mood images, which are sometimes reminiscent of Charles-François Daubigny, Camille Corot, Eugène Boudin and Eugene Isabey. D. lithographed to own drawings as well as other templates, such as Mon. et paysages de l ´ Orient after Philibert Joseph Girault de Prangey, 1851 (BN, Cabinet des Estampes). The artist exhibited his works at the Paris Salon from 1848 to 1882.
