Landscape painting with a forest brook was executed in 1860-1870s by listed British landscape painter William E. Jones, who was active in Bristol and as member of the Bristol Academy sent his works in 1849-1871 to London for exhibitions of the Royal Academy, British Institute and Society of British Artists.
