Masterfully still life with pansies was executed in the late 19th century by good listed and high quoted French still life and genre painter Paul Claude Jance (1840 - 1915). He studied at the Ecole des B.-Arts in Paris, later by Ch.Gleyre, exhibited his still lifes , genre paintings and portraits since 1863 at the Salons in Lyon and Paris.
