This romantical painting with a beautiful peasant girl by the well was executed in 1868 by listed Genoese female painter Federica Giuseppina Giuliano Gervasoni. She was born in Quinto al Mare (Genoa), 1838, died in Quarto del Mille 1915. Studied by famous genre and historical painter Bartolomeo Giuliano and became his bride. She painted mostly genre paintings, and scenes of domestic life, such as "Disillusion" in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan. The Museo Civico di Genova has her work " The return from work in the fields ".
