Due to the dress,hairstyle and original period framing this masterfully French miniature on ivory was executed ca. in 1815-1818 ( for comparison see important monography " Les Peintres en minoature.1650-1850", Paris,2008). On the back cover there is an antique label of a frame producer in Paris.

Technique: watercolour on ivory, original period frame, fire-gilded bronze inside oval frame.

Measurements: image w 1 3/4" x h 2 3/4" (4,5 x 5,7 cm), framed w 4 1/3" x h 5 1/4" (11 x 13,2 cm).
