This extremely fine miniature on ivory depicts a young aristocrat. This miniature was purchased from the collection of few miniatures by Laurent A. Gruenbaum, which were sold in the Viennese Dorotheum in 1975 . The author of our work is very renowed Austrian miniature and portrait painter Laurent A. Gruenbaum (ca.1760 Haslau by Eger - 1852 ibidem) . He was born in the Jewish family, worked in Vienna and exhibited in 1828 at the Viennese Academy. For some time he worked in Duchy of Hessen for the Elector William II, and in 1831 worked in Denmark.
