A pair of cave church interiors, due to the attribution of the expert of Bassange Art auction in Berlin Mrs. Dr. Balohr , depict inner views of Grotto Church of San Michele in Monte Sant'Angelo in Apulia . Both paintings were executed ca. in the middle of 19th century in the very closed style of famous Austrian landscape painter and traveller Hubert Sattler (1817-1904). For comparison see our painting by the same author under item No. 2084. Sattler recieved his ackowledge for panoramic views from his travells around Europe, Asia Minor, Palestina, North Africa and North Amerika. He studied by his father Johann Michael Sattler, later by emil jacob schindle at the Viennese Fine Arts Academy. in 1897 he became honore citizen of city Salzburg. His travel views arrive high results by the international auctions. Condition: both paintings and frames are in good condition.
