This winter landscape with ghostly forest and peasants on the way back to home was executed by well renown Dutch landscape painter Pieter Lodewijk Franciso Kluyver (1816 - 1900). Begun actively exhibiting since 1838. He created a lot of romantical works with summer , winter and forest landscapes.
His paintings are in museums in The Hague, Amsterdam and in many noble private collections.
