Masterfull romantic portrait of a italian Lady with the ruins lanscape on the background was created in 1849 by renown German painter Edmund Wodick ( 1817 Alvensleben by Magdeburg - 1886 Magdeburg ). The artist studied at the Academy in Berlin , Duesseldorf (under Wilhelm Schadow) and 1842-1844 in Rome, where after study he lived and became the vice-president of Ponte Molle Society. His painitngs described by Cl. Bewer in "German Artists-Album in Rom in 1844. His works are in the estate of Kaiser Friedrich Museum in Magdenburg and in Museum Stettin.
