A pair of fine botanical watercolours was executed in 1850 by listed Austrian pattern painter and drawer Ferdinand Michael Lieb ( 1833 - Vienna - 1908). He was the pupil of Viennese Academy, then he continued his study in Paris . After his return he worked as draftsman in a wallpaper factoryin Vienna and since 1881 as Director of the School of Textile Industry in Vienna.

Inscription: both watercolours titled in Latin under image in the middle, signed and dated 1850 lower right.
Technique: each watercolour on paper. Frames and matt of more later period.
Measurements: each: image w 9 7/8 " x h 13 " (25 x 33 cm); matted and framed w 17 1/2 " x h 21 1/4 " (44,5 x 54 cm).
