Monumental painting depicts busy scene on Venice quay with distance view of Santa Maria della Salute. The painting was executed by well renowed Austrian landscape and architecture painter Carl (Karl) Kaufmann (1843-1905). He studied at Vienna Academy and was active in Vienna in the 1900s.
