This beautiful expressive painting depicting scene behind the circus backstage with a harlequin and ballerinas. It was created in the style of the Ecole de Paris by the German expressionist Heinz Klaiberg.
After the academy in Germany, Klaiberg had specialized in figurative paintings during his life and work in Paris.
