Extremely qualitative Belle Epoque genre scene was executed ca. 1870s by prominent and high quoted French painter Joseph Caraud (1821 Saone et Loire - 1905). Pupil of Abel de Pijol and Ch.L.Müller at the Ecole de B.-Arts in Paris (since 1844). Debuted in 1843 in Salon de Paris with portraits and genre painting "La bonne maman et la petitefille" Then created .In addition to portraits a number of subtle and witty performed genre paintings (intimate, anekdotal and historical scenes, often borrowed from the age of Louis XV). With a special fondness, he painted Salon scenes of graceful women, folk types from Italy and Algiers (1848-1851), scenes from "The Marriage of Figaro "(1868). In addition to Salon de Paris his works were exhibited several times at the World Exhibitions (Paris , 1889 and 1900).
