A pair of very decorative portraits of beauties : due to the antique inscriptions on the back of the paintings : Catharine Schratt (as the peasant beauty) and Charlotte Wolter (as the city beauty).
his paintings were executed in Vienna ca. 1880-1890s in the style of renowned painter Anton Ebert (1845 - 1896).
Inscription: unsigned, on the reverse of each- old inscriptions in German: 1. "City. Charlotte Wolter, Burgtheater" and 2. "Village", Katharina Schratt, Burgtheater.
Technique: oil/wood, original period gold-plated frames.
