This romanticist portrait of a beauty with a floral wreath, posing with a sunset landscape in the background was executed in the middle of 19th century and despite the absence of the signature has all the criteria to be attributted to the hand of Austrian painter Franz Russ the Elder (1817 - Vienna - 1892). Franz Russ the Elder , well-known portrait and historical artist, worked in Vienna in 1840-1888 , was the father of another Austrian painter Fr.Russ the Younger , he exhibited his works at the exhibitions of St.,Anna Academy since 1845.
