Panoramic view of Lake Mondsee with famous mount Drachenwand, situated in Austrian Salzkammergut. This fine landscape painting was executed by high quoted Czech-Austrian landscape painter Adolf Chwala ( Praque 1836 - 1900 Vienna). Pupil of Praque academy, since 1864 settled in Vienna, his favorite motives were Austrian alpine lakes. He was prominent in the Bohemian landscape painting. His work is very extensive, but the painter has been given little attention. Neither an exhibition nor a monograph about him was previously available. As a rediscovery of the forgotten painter is therefore the exhibition, which opened in september 2011 in Prague´s National Gallery.
