Extremely fine pastel portrait of a young lady was executed in the late18 h century and due to the style , quality, time and technique is authentical work of one of the best British pastelists late 18th century John Russel ( Guildford 1745 - 1806 Hull ). John Russel was a pupil of Francis Cote, from 1772 an associate, from 1788 member of the Royal Academy and from 1789 court painter.
