Monumental three-fold screen or paravane depicting hunting scenes, was purchased by Sothebys Amsterdam in the sale "From European Collections" on 17.09.2007 .All three paintings sidned and dated 1889 by the artist. The author of paintings is famous German animal and landscape painter Anton Weinberger (1843 Munich - 1912 Wiesbaden). The artist studied since 1860 in the Art Academy in Munich, worked as teacher for drawing in Leipzig and St. Petersburg (1872), later studied in Berlin by Paul Meyerheim. In 1884 he lived in Vienna , where he worked as court painter (dog portraits), then until 1888 in Munchen, bis 1902 - in Wiesbaden. His works situated in the Castle zu Gera, in the hunting castle Hummelshain by Kahla, in museums of Mainz and Wiesbaden.

Inscription: each part signed and dated 1889, lower right.

Technique: oil on canvas. Luxuriousy original period hand-crafted and gold-plated wood frames. All parts can be use as mounted together paravene or as separate paintings.

Measurements: totalframed with legs : w.96 1/2" x h. 69" (245 x 175 cm); central part , unframed : w. 31 7/8" x h. 61 1/2 " (81 x 156 cm), framed w. 37 1/2 " x h. 67 " (95 x 170 cm), left and right parts, each unframed w. 24" x h. 61 1/2" (61 x 156 cm) , each framed w.29 1/2" x h. 67" (75 x 170 cm)..

Condition: in very good condition.
