French salon still life with scattered roses in the forest was executed ca. 1900 by important flower painter Pierre Garnier (1847 Lyon - 1937). The artist studied by J. Reignier at ecole de Beaux-Arts in Lyon (1862), exhibited his flower and fruits compositions in Lyon since 1872 and at the Paris salon (Society of French artists ) in 1896 and 1898. His flower works represented in the famous monography "Les peinters de Fleurs en France . De Redoute a Redon" by E.Hardouin-Fugier and Etienne Grafe.
