Our Belle Epoque genre painting wqas executed by good listed Italian genre and historical painter Pietro Gabrini (1856 - Rome - 1926).Pupil of Guglielmo de Sanctis, Gabrini begun with historical paintings : 1874, "episode from Inquisition", 1888 "Romeo and Julia". He recieved 1892 in Chicago the Large Gold Medal for his colossal painting "Landing of Columbus". Later devoted himself to the landscape, genre and seascapes (including Venice motifs and scenes from Southern Italy), later religious themes. Exhibited his works in Chicago, Quebeck, Munich (Glaspalast 1898-1900) and Paris (Salon of Soc.Art.franc., 1903).
