A pair of lovely Russian folk genre scenes in a tavern w as executed ca, in 1880s by good listed Belgian genre , portrait and still life painter Menso Kamerlingh Onnes (Bruessels 1860 - 1925 Leiden). Pupil of A.Le Comte , brother in law of painter F.H. Verster. Pyaintings by Onnes situated the City Mueum and Rijksmuseum , both Amsterdam and City Museum of Leiden.
