Monumental mystical painting depicting nacked nymphs, resting on the meadow in moon light. It was executed by renowed Austrian historical, genre and decoration painter Julius Schmid ( 1854 Vienna - 1935 Moedling by Vienna). Our painting can be identical with author's painting "Hagen und Donau-Nymphen", exhibited in Berlin 1878 and Munich 1879 and specified in the important monography in German "Malerwerke des 19s Jahrhunderts" by Friedrich von Boetticher, in the list of Julius Schmid's paintings under No.1. The artist studied at the Viennese Fine Arts Academy under August Eisenmenger, here was awarded with Rome Prize and in 1878-1880 lived and studied in Rome. From here he sent paintings for exhibitiions of the Viennese academy and was awarded with prizes. He created many ceiling and wall paintings in the Schotten church in Vienna.after visit of paris world exhibition he created a seria of allegorical paintings : "Morgen", "Summer", "Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen !", which recieved Reichel-Prize in 1891. Second award broken him curtain decorations of Raimund-theater, also a lot of portraits. He recieved medaills by the Berlin International Exhibition in 1891, the Austrian Kaiser Prize in 1892; Silver Medaille of The Munich Art Exhibition in 1892 and Austrian State Medaille in 1894.
