Large genre scene with a beauty in front of the mirror was executed ca. 1820-1830s by good listed Belgian genre, historical and landscape painter Charles Picque (1899 Deynze - 1869 Brussels). Pupil of Paelinck. Works by Picque situated: Rijksmuseum Amsterdam ("On the St.Bernhard"); Museum Brussels (Selfportrait", "Children of the artist" and others); Museum Gent ("Heba"); Town Hall Brussels.
