Fine military portrait of a young French sous (second) lieutenant of infantry was executed in 1849 by French portrait painter Philibert Bernard (born 1823 in Nomexy). Special thanks to the sitter's determination for Mr. Stanislav Lyulin, Moscow, the known expert of European military uniforms.
