Romantici landscape with washerwomen on river bank was executed in 1850s by famous German painter Jakob Maurer (1826 Oberhessen - 1887 Cronberg i.T.) . On the reverse of frame there is original exhibition label of Union of Duesseldorf Artist with inscription in German about the title and artists name. Jakob Maurer studied at the Academy in Frankfurth by Jakob Becker and settled in 1851 in Duesseldorf. He was member of artist colony in Cronberg, his works situated in museums: Staedel Frankfurth and Province Museum Weimar.
