This large forest alpine landscape with a hunter on the edge of waterfall was executed ca. in 1870s by good listed Austrian Josef Thoma (1828 Vienna - 1899 Vienna). The artist studied at the Vienna Academy and became a very well-known Austrian landscape painter with motifs especially from the Alpine region. Works by him belong to the collections of the greatest Austrian museums and various public collections abroad.
