One part of 5 grisailles-one colour watercolours with byblical scenes as seria of original designs to print works (probably for etching mappe "Panorame of Univercity" by Gottleib Haase , published ca. 1835. This 5 watercolours (for other parts see item No. 2788; 2789; 2790; 2791) were executed in the middle of 1830s by very renowed Czech histrorical, religious, archtectural painter, etcher and writer Wilhelm Kandler (1816 Kratzau/North Bohemia - 1896 Praque). The artist sutdied since 1830 athe academy in Praque, was influenced in his early works from art of Josef von Fuehrich and his Nzarene Circle. Kandler decoreated with his frescos, wall and deck paintings many famous Czech and after his travell to Italy, Italian chrurches and cathedrals also. After his sucseefull exhibitions by Praque art union, he recieved stipendia from artist fundation for study travel to Rome through Vienna, Venice, Bologna, Florence. He lived and worked in Rome few years in the circle of famous Nazarene painters (Overbeck, Achtermann and Flatz).
