Humorfully old German intereior scene with an amateur violinist and his favorite songbird was executed 1863 by famous Munich historical and genre painter Wilhelm Ernst Friedrich Roegge (1829 Osnabrück - 1908 Munich). The artist studied at the Munich academy by Anschütz and Ph.Foltz and in Duesseldorf by J.Kehren. His historical paintings , murals , wall and ceilling works as well as genre paintings situated in the Bavarian National Museum; castle Herrenchiemsee; Art Gallery in Sheffield (United Kingdom).
