Extreme large imperial Russian laquer box depicting historical scene from the antique Russia with the tsar and his boyars on the Red Square in Moscow, the box was executed on the famous Russian manufacrture Vishnjakov in the middle of 19th century. Inscription: on the reverse of the cover - gold stamp of Vishnjakov manufacture.
Technique: lacque, gold, oil on papier-mashe ( a construction material that consists of pieces of paper, sometimes reinforced with textiles, stuck together using a wet paste (e.g., glue, starch, or wallpaper adhesive). The crafted object becomes solid when the paste dries).
Measurements: box 10" x 7 1/2" x 2 2/3 " x "(28 x 17,5 x 8 cm ).
Condition: in good condition, fine thin cracks of lacque. |
