Fine watercolour portrait of a young lady from the Viennese Biedermeier epoch was executed y listed Austrian portrait and historical painter Ludwig Steiner, he studied at the Viennese Academy and worked in Vienna from 1828 to 1843. He exhbited his works on the academical exhibitions of St.Anna. "Porträt of Hofrat Mosel" (1828), "Child portrait" (1832), "Christ arouses Jairi daughter" (1839), cartons to the altar painting "St.Rochus" (1843).

Inscription: signed diagonaly on the right edge (part of signature was cut off by framing of previous owner).
Technique: watercolour on thin card board. Splendid original period gold-plated frame.
Measurements: unframed w 5 1/2" x h 7 " (14 x 17,5 cm ), framed 8 1/2 " x 9 3/4 " ( 21,5 x 24,5 cm ).
