Masterfully portrait of the race horse, named Magistral, was executed in the last quarter of 19th century by listed French landscape and horse painter Ernest (Marie-Joseph-Ernest) Lenail, who born in Blois/(Loir-et-Cher, France) , where was active from 1868 to 1905 . The museum of Lige situated landscape by him.The artist exhibited his works in Paris Salon since 1868. His paintins with sporting horse are popular among collectors and represanted by different international auctions.
