Masterfully portrait of a rabbi was executed on the turn of 20th century by listed Austrian painter of Jewish origin Johann Wenzel Suess the senior ( 1867 Bruenn - 1937 Vienna). The father of painters Josef and Edmund Suess , the artist recieved acknowledge for his genre scenes and jewish portraits.
