Hand-coloured lithography from the early 19th century depicting etnographic scenes from the live of cossacks in Black Sea /Don River and Ural mountains areas.The Don Cossacks were free Cossack communities, who settled along the middle and lower Don River, The Don Cossack Host was a frontier military organization from the end of the 16th until the early 20th century.The Ural Cossack Host was a formed from the Ural Cossacks -- those cossacks settled by the Ural River. Their alternative name, Yaik Cossacks, comes from the old name of the river.
Inscription: upper and under images in plate numbered and inscribed in German.
Technique: antique lithography on paper , hand-coloured, unframed.
Measurements: w 6 1/2 " x h 10 " (16,3 x 25,5 cm)
Condition: in quite good condition, one black mark under last image (see photo).
